EASTHAM BOARD OF ASSESSORS
Minutes of July 26, 2011 Meeting
Al Sette called the meeting of the Board of Assessors to order at 3:00 p.m. in the Small Meeting Room.
Present: Assessors Fagan, Sette, and Buffington, Deputy Assessor Gail McAleer and Field Appraiser Belinda Eyestone.
OLD BUSINESS:
The Board VOTED unanimously to APPROVE the minutes of the July 18, 2011 meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
Gail McAleer reviewed the FY11 Community Preservation Surcharge report for submission to the Department of Revenue for matching funds. The report indicated that $3,273.36 in real estate abatements were granted by the Board which resulted in abatements totaling $43.07 in CPA funds. The Board VOTED unanimously to approve and sign the report.
Gail McAleer discussed the status of the FY12 tax bills. There has been discussion regarding the need for a Special Town Meeting to address a possible financial requirement at Nauset Regional High School. If that occurs, the first half tax bills will likely be mailed after October 1st. Normally values are submitted to the Department of Revenue by mid August and plans are to have the Classification Hearing on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in order to have tax bills mailed by October 1, 2011.
EXECUTIVE SESSION:
Al Sette made a motion to convene Executive Session per M.G.L. c.30A, Sec. 21.
Maureen Fagan seconded.
Roll call vote was taken to enter Executive Session at 3:20 p.m. Sette-yes, Fagan-yes, Buffington-yes
The Board exited Executive Session at 3:40 p.m.
The meeting adjourned at 3:45 p.m.
